Invitation for Panel Discussion on Affordable Housing & "In the Name of Housing" Exhibition - 30/07/2016

PVPCOA invites Principals, Faculty Members, Faculty teaching Housing, 4th Year B.Arch Students (Academic year 16-17) for Panel Discussion on Affordable Housing on Saturday, 30th July 2016 with

The discussion is based on the exhibition "IN THE NAME OF HOUSING", A study of affordable housing in the context of Chawls of Mumbai, by Ar. Sameer Padora. The exhibition will also be displayed in PVPCOA from Saturday 30th July to Saturday 6th August 2016.

The study & exhibition - IN THE NAME OF HOUSING by Ar. Sameep Padora & Associates offers a ‘Paradigm shift’ to the current ideologies of affordable housing. The exhibition compares 14 projects of ‘Proven typologies’ in affordable housing like Chawls & Mhada settlements   in Mumbai which can inform current regulatory mechanisms and be integrated into policy frameworks. So the desired built and spatial form influences the framing of housing policies rather than the other way around.     

The study has a universal code which connects itself to issues regarding affordable housing in the context of large cities like Pune which will set the framework for the Panel Discussion, and in due course would also discuss parallel experiences & approaches taken by our eminent panelists on the same. 

Event Schedule:

1) Exhibition Inauguration  - Saturday 30th July 2016 (9.30am – 10.00am)

2) Visit to the Exhibition     - 10.00am – 10.30am 

     Exhibition Venue            -  Rectangular Studio, 2nd Floor, PVPCOA , Pirangut, Pune. 

3) Panel Discussion            - 10.30am – 12.30pm

Registration Fee (for panel discussion):
