Site Visit : LA: Empress Garden - 25/02/2016

As a part of  Landscape Design (LA) subject, III year visited the Empress Garden, Pune to study and Identify the Plants species.

The 'Empress Garden' is the most historic and botanically important gardens in the Pune region. It was initially a 'Soldier's Garden" which is managed by Agri- Horticultural society of Western India.
The Garden covers a sprawling 39 acres and is home  to many rare species of trees and flowers.

Cultural Evening - Bandish 2015-16 - 20/02/2016

The Insight Week culminated with the Cultural Evening on Saturday, 20th February 2016. The Cultural Evening includes an Inter-College Competition, where each year has to perform a 20 minutes act, comprising of a Skit, Dance, Fashion Show and Set, with respect to the Theme decided for the Event.

This year, the Theme decided was "UTOPIA". The Event started with a Saxophone Act by Ar. Nitin Kulkarni. Along with these performances, there were also individual performances by students, faculty and administration staff.

The Jury invited for the event included, Ar. Nitin Kulkarni, Marathi screenplay writer Mr. Milind Shintre and Event Manager Mr. Sagar Atre.

The Fifth year bagged the Best Act, the Second year bagged Best Fashion Show, while the Best Set Design was shared by Fourth year and Second year. Ankit Bhagat was adjudged Best Actor while Aniket Toro was declared Best Dancer, both from Fifth year.

This year, through a public voting, the Cultural Evening was given the name "BANDISH".
The name was suggested by Nirmit Shah from Second Year.

Sports Day - 18/02/2016

During the Insight Week, Sports Day was organised on Thursday, 18th February 2016. On this day, Finals of Basketball (Boys & Girls), Volleyball (Boys & Girls), Dodgeball (Boys & Girls), Cricket and Football took place.
There were also 100m and 400m running race (individual and relay). To involve the Faculty and Staff in sports, a friendly match took place between the Administration Staff and Faculty accompanied by fourth year students.

The event culminated with an enthusiastic Tug of War between all the years, followed by announcements of the Winners of Sports Day.

This year the Fifth year bagged the Sports Trophy. Ankur Azad and Anthea Fernandis, both of Fifth year, were announced Best Sport Persons (Boy & Girl respectively).

Traditional Day (Food Festival) - 17/02/2016

During the Insight Week, Khau Galli - A Food Festival in conjunction with "Traditional Day" was organised at PVPCOA. The main aim of this event is to acquaint us with various traditional foods which are served in respective traditional attire. A competition is organised for Best Food Stall
(with respect to Stall Design, Food and Traditional attire). The event also awards Best Costume - Male and Female.

This year too, a blend of various cultures was seen at the event. With stalls ranging from Egyptian Culture to Indian Street Food, the people who attended the event got a glimpse and taste of various cultures at every stall.

The Best Stall Design was won by the "Islamic" Stall by one of the First Year Groups.

Insight Exhibition 2015-16 - 16/02/2016

The INSIGHT EXHIBITION, was once again set up successfully by the students of PVPCOA, after continuous hard work  for over 3 days since Friday, 12th February 2016.
The exhibition was inaugurated at the hands of Padmashree Dr. Jabbar Patel, a well known     Theater and Film Director. The event was also honoured by the presence of renowned Herpetologist
Dr. Neelim Kumar Khaire, who later presented on recycled products designed at his Uttara School of Environment, Rural Development and Extension.
