As a part of  History of Architecture and Human Settlements (HAHS), subject II year visited Aurangabad, Ellora caves to study and understand about the World Heritage Site.
Students visited and studied the impressive rock cut temples and monasteries.

Site Visit : AD & LA III : Fire Fighting , MIDC, Bhosari - 27/01/2016

As a part of  Building Services (BS II), students of II Year B. Arch visited MIDC, Bhosari to study existing fire fighting services of an Industrial Shed. Its working methodology with demonstration
on - site, also to understand its importance in building construction.

Goal Gappe: Practical Training Session - 26/01/2016

As a part of Practical Training, the students of current Fifth Year, presented the experiences and learning during their internship at various architectural firms and organisations. The session intended to give exposure to the students of current Fourth year and Third year to various Architectural firms, their works and overall environment.

Republic Day 2016 - 26/01/2016

The eve of Republic day of India, 26th January 2016 was celebrated with full spirit by PVPCOA. This year the occasion focused on “Women Empowerment”.

Open Water Swimmer, Mr. Rohan More and Pilot Ms. Nikita Agarwal , were the Chief Guest and Invitee respectively. Their speeches motivated the students to follow and achieve their dreams. There were also speeches by Ms. Sandhya Patil from Faculty and a 2nd Year Student Ms. Aishwarya Khadalkar, along with songs performed by college orchestra stating the importance of Women Empowerment in today’s society. The event concluded with motivational speeches by Principal,
Ar. Prof. Prasanna Desai and Secretary of V.I.T, Mr. Jitendra Pitaliya.

FACULTY ACHIEVEMENT : IIID Anchor Awards 2015 - 24/1/2016

Pune gets Award of the Year for its first DESIGNED URBAN SPACE

IIID Anchor Natioal Award 2015 presented "Award of the Year" to Prasanna Desai Architects (PDA) an Architecture and Urban Design firm, under the category of "AFFORDABLE DESIGN FOR THE MASSES" in New Delhi on January 23rd 2016 for their project "CREATING AN URBAN SPACE WITH PUBLIC PARTICIPATION" along ITI road in Aundh.

Project "DISHA" aimed at creating Healthy, Hygienic and Humane neighbourhood by Public Participatory approach and unique incorporation of design strategy "Drawing the DESIRE LINES" which prioritised 15 key components of a street, like Pedestrians, Cycle tracks, Integrating services and Hawkers, thus creating street as an urban space and social hub.This was achieved within the existing street fabric by streamlining the ongoing activities and reorganising the spaces for optimisation of "THE SOCIAL STREET CULTURE".

The Jury cited "It is an interesting urban intervention which has transformed an entire street in a very sensitive manner. It also involves all the stakeholders with its interesting concept. We hope that this initiative is taken up across the cities in our country to make the urban life of our citizens better."

The college congratulates Ar. Prof. Prasanna Desai, Director, PVPCOA, for the recognition of his achievement towards his great efforts in creating a habitable space in public domain. The college  is proud to have such an esteemed academician to guide the students and the budding architects of future.

Visit & Interaction : Ar. Hidetoshi Sawa, Vietnam, Japan - 23/1/2016

Ar. Hidetoshi Sawa paid a visit to the college on Saturday 23rd January, 2016. He visited the premises and appreciated the academic vigour of the college. The interaction with the students was especially very informative and inspiring.

He works as a partner Architect at head quarter of  Vo Trong Nghia Architects in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. He studied architecture at Tokyo Institute of Technology and Technischen University at Munchen, Munich, Germany.

Vo Trong Nghia Architects is a leading architectural practice in Vietnam with more than 60 International Architects, engineers and the staff work closely on cultural , residential and commercial projects worldwide.

Site Visit : ABTS IV : Rohan Abhilasha tunnel framework study, Wagholi - 22/1/2016

It was organised for IV year students of  B. Arch as a part of Academic curriculum for  Advanced Building Technology and Services (ABTS), students visited a live construction site of
Rohan Abhilasha apartments at Wagholi to study and understand the tunnel framework construction details.

STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT : INSDAG Steel Design

The National Level "Competition for Civil/Structural Engineering students for best Innovative Structural Steel Design" is organised by INSDAG every year.

The "Competition" is open to all final year/pre-final year Undergraduate students. There are four Zonal selection committees consisting of renowned academics and Professional engineers.

Initial Round : 16 (sixteen) best entries are selected (four from each Zone) based on overall on overall merit of the proposals with the criteria formulated by the committees.

The Group entry selected for FINALS (West Zone) on 18th January 2016 :
Vaishnavi Paralikar, Shubbaam Rathi, Sayali Tarnekar, chaitanya Waghmare  (all four have been selected from  PVPCOA, Pune)

These students will be presenting in Final Round Evaluation Programme of  INSDAG Arch
Award 2015 to be held during February 11-12, 2016 at Kolkata.

COMPETITIONS FOR INSIGHT 2015-16 - 15/01/2016

For the upcoming INSIGHT  2015-16 week, following design competitions for installations in the college premises are being organised on the theme of : "UTOPIA".
The interested students shall submit the designs by Friday, 22nd January, 2016.

The designs will be selected by the jury and will be implemented for the INSIGHT INAUGURATION day. Looking forward for good amount of participation and enthusiasm from students.

The competitions are as follows :

Competition for SECTION WALL design on the theme,
 it is representative wall of PVPCOA
THE VERTICAL SHAFT design on the theme
 to be suspended from terrace vertically down
 up to the first lecture room
THE SILENCER design, as an universal indicator
 for the entire college premises.
Purpose to have complete silence
The ATRIUM design following the theme
The ALUMINIUM PANEL design based on the theme.
The installations begins at the right of the panel and ends on the left.

Shear Force 2016 - 15/01/2016 - 17/01/2016

Like last three years, this year also our college has organised an Inter-college sports event,
‘Shear Force’. Sports were played under three heads -
Football (Boys),
Basketball (Boys)
Basketball (Girls)

Pankaj M. Gundhecha (Director), Arihant Developers and Pushkar Developers sponsored the event. Colleges outside Pune city also participated in the event.

The Event spanned for over three days starting from Friday, 15th January 2016 to
Sunday, 17th January 2016. The event was successfully organised with full zest of the students of the participating colleges.
