Workshop : Smt. VIDYA DENGLE, Artist - 30/07/2015

Smt. Vidya Dengle is a renowned  Painter, Sculptor, Musician (Hindustani classical music), Violinist and also a author of short stories for children,  published in magazines, books and newspapers.

She  paid a visit to the college  to conduct a Workshop in the orientation week, for the Ist year students of Architecture on "Navrasa".

Site Visit : BS I - COEP - Plumbing Lab, Pune - 25/07/2015

As a part of Building Services (BS-I), II year visited Plumbing Lab at College of Engineering, Pune. A three hours lecture was conducted by Prof. Nitin Mohite (COEP Lab in-charge), explaining the functions of all the different types of  Water supply and Sanitation systems. 

Lecture was accompanied by a Live demonstration of the actual functioning of the systems in detail.
The lab also includes different types of Toilet layouts for Normal and Handicapped persons with plumbing and drainage details.

Registration for Asian Contest for Architectural Rookie's Award (ACARA) – 2015

PVPCOA invites all ARCHITECTURAL STUDENTS & FACULTY MEMBERS to attend the jury of Indian Domestic Contest at Pvpcoa Pune on Saturday, 8th August 2015 (8:00am to 6:00pm).

All the Faculty Members & Students interested in attending the Indian Domestic Contest for ACARA 2015, need to do Online Registration.
Note : Contestants need not register.

 1. Registration Charges
    Participants            : No charges
    Faculty                   : Rs. 500/-
    Students                 : Rs. 300/-
2. Complimentary Breakfast and  Lunch for all Registered members.
3. Online registration to be done  before 7 th August 2015, 10:00am.
4. Registration charges to be paid at the registration desk at Pvpcoa on Saturday, 8th August, 2015 by 8:00am.
5. Carry your college ID -cards along with you.

Asian Contest for Architectural Rookie's Award (ACARA) – 2015
Indian Domestic Contest 2015 

Broad Details of ACARA:
ACARA is an International contest for students of Architecture, held every year in order to contribute to architectural education and establish rich networking associated with modern architecture in Asia. This design competition has its own uniqueness that it is open only for the current 4th year students to present their 3rd  Year B. Arch Architectural Design work. Design work, which is an important bench mark & mid destination in the five year long course of Architecture.

 Dr. Youngil Lee from Japan is the Chief organiser for ACARA. The objective of ACARA competition is to review, judge & evaluate architectural works and ideas created by students studying architectural design in universities in various countries across Asia like Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, Vietnam & India.

 For the Indian domestic contest for architectural Rookies-2015, (hosted by PVP college of architecture) invitation will be sent to all the 400 plus colleges recognised by Council of Architecture in india.

In ACAR-2014 we had a pan India participation of 42 students.

Opportunity for 2 Gold winners in the year 2013, 2014 and 2015 :
·         Winners of Indian domestic contest held in 2013 had an opportunity to represent India in Osaka, Japan
·         Winners of Indian domestic contest held in 2014 had an opportunity to represent India in Dalian, China
·         Winners of Indian domestic contest 2015 will have an opportunity to represent India in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam in October 2015

A) STAGES OF COMPETITION FOR INDIAN DOMESTIC CONTEST -ACARA 2015:
There are FOUR IMPORTANT STAGES in Indian Domestic Contest for Architectural Rookies:
*STAGE 1 : Online registration extended till Tuesday 28th July 2015

Last date for Registration was Tuesday 28th July 2015. Registration has closed. 

 *STAGE 2: Online submission of Power Point presentations extended till Wednesday day 5th August 2015 **

Kindly send your Power-point presentations to:


(Power-point presentation should not exceed 10 slides and to be less than 15 MB.
Your first slide to have the title for your Architectural project, your first name only and 6-digit code number given during registration)

 *STAGE 3: Submission of sheets,model and Power-point presentation in CD , in person latest by Friday 7th August 2015 from 9 am to 5 pm.
SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR STAGE 3 :
1) A1 sheets- 2 nos.( any medium is permitted )
2) For Indian Domestic Contest - MODEL of any suitable scale will be acceptable
(Note: For ACARA 2015, in Vietnam,MODEL has to fit in Size 900mm x 900mm x 700mm as per ACARA format )
3)CD with Power-point presentation with your project name & code number written on it.

·         (Note :In case of overwhelming response, a selection process will be adopted for shortlisting of the entries.
·         All the presented sheets & the models to be taken back by the participants after the Domestic Jury.)

*STAGE 4: Presentation of entries to the jury panel on Saturday 8th August 2015 starting from 8 am to 6 pm)
(*Note: Reporting time on Sat 8 Aug  8:00 am.
3 to 5 mins will be given to each participant to present his/her work.)

*(VeryImportant Note: Participants should NOT reveal their identity or college name in Power-point slides, Sheets ,models or by any means during their presentation. Participants will be identified by first nameand 6-digit code number)

 B) ELIGIBILITY:  
1) Bonified students of 4th year B.Arch studying in any Architectural Institute in India  recognised by Council of Architecture.
(Note : Students to carry their college identity card during the contest)

2) Third Year Architectural Design project for Semester 1 or Semester 2 from academic   session   2014 -15 to be presented.
 (Note: Max. 2 Individual Entries per College ;
 Group work will not be eligible;  
Only Architectural Design project of 3rd year B.Arch. done in academic session 2014-15 will be eligible.)

3) Participant should have a valid PASSPORT till January 2016 or should manage to avail it before 30th August 15.                                 
( Note : Xerox copy of the passport to be submitted along with the submission on Fri 7TH Aug)
C) AWARDS : 
1) Indian Contest – Top 2 Gold Awards worth Rs.10,000 each& 3 Silver Awards worth Rs.5000 each along with a certificate and trophy.
 (Note:  It is Juries  discretion to award all or part of the total prizes announced )

 2) Top 2 Gold winners out of these 5 awardees from Indian Domestic contest 2015 will be nominated for presenting their work in ACAR 2015 which will be held in Ho Chi Minh cityin Vietnam on Saturday 24th October 2015

(Note: Travel and other expenses for Vietnam will be reimbursed by the host of ACARA for the two selected participants)

 D) JUDGING CRITERIA
1) Design will be assessed by  Power-point presentation, Drawings as well as Model for the Indian Domestic Contest 2015.
 2) Students will present their work in the form of Power-point presentation for 3 to 5 mins each as per Rookies standard format.

 (Note: In case of overwhelming response, a selection process will be adopted for shortlisting of the entries. )

E) JURY PANEL:
Jury panel for Indian domestic contest for ACARA 2015 involves more than 12 jury members out of which 7- jury members will be from colleges with winning entries to ACARA 2014 and ACARA 2013 and will consist of :

STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT : AQ (Architectural Quotient) 2015 - 23/07/2015

PVP College of Architecture  organizes  “Architectural Quotient 2015”, an Inter-Collegiate Quiz, between colleges of Architecture affiliated to SPPU (Pune University) and other Universities, as a platform to showcase the best and the most knowledgeable minds in the city of  Pune. This is an endeavour to encourage a spirit of friendly competition between the participating students eager to win the coveted prizes.

The vision is to elevate the quizzing standard of the Architectural Fraternity and establishing Pune as an Architectural Quiz Hub, thus preparing them for the Grand National Quiz, 'ARCHUMEN' organized by Ethos.

Total 111  teams participated in the preliminary round held at the venue. Out of which 6 teams qualified for the final quiz round. 

The final Winners were:
Karishma Joshi and Manasi Saraswate (BKPS)

First Runners up were:
Akshay Marsute and Aniket Raskar (PVPCOA)

2nd Runners up:
Gaurav Park and Pinak Bhapkar

Blood Donation Camp - 13/07/2015

The Blood Donation Camp organised by Jan Kalyana Rakta Pedhi, Pune is an annual event at PVPCOA. The students and faculty both participate with equal enthusiasm and contribute to a noble cause.
