As a part of Building Technology and Management (BTM), III year students visited the Jai Kokal furniture factory on Thursday 27th July 2017 to understand the practicalities of furniture design and various machinery which are used in manufacturing and thus resulting the methods of manufacturing a furniture item.

All the Faculty Members & non-contesting students interested in attending the Indian Domestic Contest for ACARA 2017, need to do Online Registration.

Stage 4: Presentation of entries to the jury panel at PVPCOA, Pune (From 8:00am to 6:00pm, Saturday 5th August 2017)
(Powerpoint presentation of maximum 5 minutes for each entry as per Rookies standard format)

Architectural Quotient 2017 - 18/07/2017

The Architectural Quotient 2017 was successfully held on Tuesday, 18th July 2017 at S.M. Joshi Auditorium in Pune.

Around 107 teams participated, where the maximum number of participation was from  Allana college of architecture and PVPCOA followed by S B Patil College of architecture and BKPS college of architecture.

Invitation for Architectural Quotient (AQ) 2017 - 13/07/2017

Vivekanand Institute of Technology's Padmabhushan Dr. Vasantdada Patil College of Architecture, Pune ( in association with IIA, Pune ) is hosting a quiz event Architectual Quotient (AQ) -2017 for students of Architecture affiliated to Savitibai Phule Pune University (SPPU) and other universities in the Pune on Tuesday, 18th July 2017 at S. M. Joshi Sabhagriha, Navi Peth, Pune Starting at 4:30 pm. 

Schedule of program is as follows 
4:30 - 5:00 pm On spot registration + Reporting 
5:00 - 5:30 pm Qualifying round 
5:30 - 6:15 pm Break & screening of a film 
6:15 - 7:30 pm Quiz final round 
7:30 - 8:00 pm Prize distribution 

Any student enrolled in the current academic year 2017-18 from 2nd to 5th year can participate in the AQ-2017 event. 

Rules for participation - 
1. Two students per team 
2. No restriction on number of teams for written quiz ( first round )

Our College's Trustee Adv. Abhay Chhajed were present for the event.

Blood Donation 2017-18 - 12/07/2017

PVPCOA organised Blood Donation Camp on Wednesday, 12th July 2017

Total of 75 people donated blood, out of which 20 girls, 42 boys, 7 non teaching staff, 1 teaching staff 2 ex-students and 3 masters students alongwith our Secretary Shri Jitendra Pitaliya donated blood. 

Our College's Trustee Adv. Abhay Chhajed were present for the event.

BROAD DETAILS OF ACARA: 

ACARA is an International contest for students of Architecture, held every year in order to contribute to architectural education and establish rich networking associated with modern architecture in Asia. This design competition has its own uniqueness that it is open only for the current 4th year students to present their 3rd Year B. Arch Architectural Design work. Design work, which is an important bench mark & mid destination in the five year long course of Architecture. 

Dr. Youngil Lee from Japan is the Chief organiser for ACARA. The objective of ACARA competition is to review, judge & evaluate architectural works and ideas created by students studying architectural design in universities in various countries across Asia like Malaysia, Indonesia, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, Japan, Vietnam & India. 

 For the Indian domestic contest for architectural Rookies-2017, (hosted by PVP college of architecture) invitation will be sent to all the 400 plus colleges recognised by Council of Architecture in india.

 A) ELIGIBILITY: 

 1) Bonafied students of 4th year B.Arch studying in any Architectural Institute in India recognised by Council of Architecture.

 2) Third Year Architectural Design project for Semester 1 or Semester 2 from academic session 2016-17 to be presented.

 (Note: Max. 2 Individual Entries per College ; Group work will not be eligible; Only Architectural Design project of 3rd year B.Arch. done in academic session 2016-17 will be eligible.) 

 B) AWARDS : 

· Indian Contest – Top 2 Gold Awards worth Rs.10,000 each & 3 Silver Awards worth Rs.5000 each along with a certificate and trophy. 
 · Top 2 Gold winners out of these 5 awardees from Indian Domestic contest 2017 will be nominated to represent India for presenting their work in ACARA 2017

Opportunity for 2 Gold winners in the year 2013, 2014 , 2015 and 2016 : 

· Winners of Indian domestic contest held in 2013 had an opportunity to represent India in Osaka, Japan 
· Winners of Indian domestic contest held in 2014 had an opportunity to represent India in Dalian, China 
· Winners of Indian domestic contest 2015 had an opportunity to represent India in Ho Chi Minh city, Vietnam. 
· Winners of Indian domestic contest 2016 had an opportunity to represent India in Singapore.

 (Note: Travel and other expenses for Asian contest is reimbursed by the host of ACARA for the two selected participants)

 C) JUDGING CRITERIA :

 · Design will be assessed by Power-point presentation, Drawings (2 numbers of A1 sized panel) as well as Model for the Indian Domestic Contest 2017. 
· Students will present their work in the form of Power-point presentation for max. 5 mins each as per Rookies standard format.

 D) JURY PANEL: Jury panel for Indian domestic contest for ACARA 2017 involves more than 10 jury members out of which 2-5 jury members will be from colleges with winning entries in 2016.
