Healthy Body & Healthy Mind : "Healthy Mind" by Dr. Radha Raje - 29/09/2016

Expert Sessions for "Healthy Body & Healthy Mind" by Dr. Radha Raje has been conducted by PVPCOA on Thursday, 29th September 2016.

Dr. Radha Raje is a consulting Pshycologist. She has graduated with Specialization in Child Development, post-graduation in Clinical Psychology and has done her Doctorate in Interdisciplinary Education from University of Pune. With experience of over 19 years in the field of student Guidance, she has also been instrumental in conducting Training & Orientation Workshops for over 1000 teachers. As a part of our institute, she will provide insight and knowledge to make valuable contributions to the student development and progress. 

Today Dr. Raje had brief introductory session with the faculty members and later with the First Year B. Arch students, where she spoke about how to create self awareness. She will be available for consultation in college on regular basis.

Site Visit : First Year B. Arch. : Old City and Camp, Pune - 28/09/2016

As a part of First Year Orientation towards Architecture, the First year B. Arch. students were taken for a visit to the Old City and Camp area of Pune to understand Architectural Spaces and Construction technologies used therein.

The site visit was organised on Wednesday, 28th September 2016 and was conducted by First year AD faculty.

The students were taken for a Heritage Walk through the Old Pune city and Camp area and were asked to understand architectural spaces through sketches.

Student's Achievement : AESA THESIS AWARDS 2016 : Ganesh Harimkar - 25/09/2016

PVPCOA feels proud to congratulate our student Ganesh Harimkar for winning the AESA THESIS AWARD 2016 here at Pune on Sunday, 25th September 2016.

Ganesh Harimkar along with Anuja Bhandari (Batch 2015) of our college were among the top four finalists besides Riya Agarwal of BKPS College of Architecture and Huzefa Chalisa of Allana College of Architecture, Pune.

The final open jury round for AESA Educational Awards 2016, was conducted on Sunday, 25th September 2016 at Jayantrao Tilak Auditorium, Tilak Maharashtra Vidyapeeth, Gultekdi Pune in the esteemed presence of chief guest Er. C. E. Godse.

Guest Lecture : Professional Practice : Ar. Prof. Madhav Deobhakta, Mumbai - 14/09/2016

As a part of Professional Practice in Fourth Year B.Arch.,  Ar. Prof. Madhav Deobhakta was invited to PVPCOA to give lecture on Professional Practice on Wednesday, 14th September 2016.

Ar. Prof. Madhav Deobhakta is an architect and educationist. His involvement in architectural education and practice dates back to 1957 first as a member of faculty of Sir J. J. College of architecture and academy of architecture, Mumbai, and as a partner of M/s Sane and Paymaster, Architects. 

His deep concern for the improvement of the professional standards is seen in his long association with organisations like IIA, AIBoSA, Urban Heritage Committee, Mumbai, ICTA. Widely travelled, he has made slide presentations relating to urban design, Ekistics and Contemporary Indian Architecture all over India and abroad. He has contributed articles to IIA journal, Journal Ekistics, Indian architect and Builder, TOI, and Vishwa kosha. 

He has worked with Voluntary organizations designing community facilities and providing access to disabled. He brings his vast experience and thought provoking ideas on professional issues to PVP COA.

Visit by Dr. Sugan Baranth, Sevagram, Wardha - 12/09/2016

Noted academician, Dr. Sugan Baranth visited our college on Monday, 12th September 2016.

Dr. Baranth is former secretary of Sarva Seva Sangh and is associated with Anand Niketan (Nai Talim School) based on the principles of  Mahatma Gandhi at Sevagram, Maharashtra. He is also associated as faculty at Gandhi Research Foundation.

Freshers' Night 2016 - 10/09/2016

PVPCOA students welcomed the First Year B.Arch. students by organising a Freshers' Night on Saturday, 10th September 2016.

The whole purpose of Freshers' night is to welcome newcomers in a friendly atmosphere and avoid social evils, to encourage their creative talents. It is meant for interaction between seniors and freshers so that they mingle with one another easily. We at PVPCOA make it compulsory to organise the Freshers' Night in the College Campus itself, hence safeguarding the essence of Freshers' Night.

This year the theme for the Freshers' Night was based on "Yin & Yang".

PVPCOA feels proud to congratulate our student of Final Year B.Arch. Prasad Somvanshi for winning 2nd position and the team of Akash Sanghvi, Kaushal Tatiya and Shubbam Rathi for winning the The Social Media Star award in the Architectural Competition "The Drawing Board" conducted by Rohan Builders Pvt. Ltd.

Around 40 teams from our college participated in the competition out of which 3 teams viz.
1) Akash Sanghvi, Kaushal Tatiya and Shubbam Rathi (4th Year)
2) Prasad Somvanshi (5th Year)
3) Shubham Kotawadekar and Shubham Kapre (3rd Year)
made it to the Top 8 finalists.

The Final Jury was Held at Rohan Builders Pvt. Ltd. Office in Khandala on Saturday, 10th of September 2016. The Jury members included Ar. Pushkar Kanvinde and Ar. Sanjay Mohe along with CMD of Rohan Builders Pvt. Ltd., Mr. Suhas Lunkad.


The winners for the competition were:
1st Prize  : Aditya Pawar (IDEA College of Architecture, Nashik)
2nd Prize : Prasad Somvanshi (PVPCOA, Pune)
3rd Prize : Tanmay Patil, Raghav K.G. (SCOA, Pune)

Students' Achievement : The Western Interface of GROHE ARCHUMEN 1617 : Aniket Raskar and Ankit Parekh - 09/09/2016

PVPCOA congratulates the team of Aniket Raskar and Ankit Parekh for making it to the Top 6 teams in The Western Interface of GROHE ARCHUMEN 1617 held on Friday, 9th of September 2016 in Pune.

Archumen is a National Level Architectural Quiz Competition (LIMCA National Record holder for the Biggest Quiz conducted for Architectural Students) is conducted as a four-zone quiz that culminates in a Grand National Finale. Giri "Pickbrain" Balasubramaniam is the quizmaster.

The Western Interface of Grohe Archumen 1617 have been held on the 9th of September at the Dhanwantri auditorium, 3rd floor, Bharati Vidyapeeth Medical College campus, Dhankavadi Katraj, Pune.

The results are out: Over 100 teams have participated.

These two teams made to National finalists:
1. Jaisal Sanghvi & Amar Agarwal from Singhad College of Architecture, Pune
2. Kshitij Bhal & Puneet Bansal from Sir J.J. College of Architecture

These 4 teams made it to stage :
1. Ankit Parekh & Aniket Raskar from PVPCOA Pune
2. Yati Kumar Mishra & Bhavesh Sachar from BVDU's COA, Pune
3. Akshay Bhandarkar & Anurag Rathi from VNIT Nagpur
