A guest lecture, by Er. Anant Joshi, CEO, Everest AIr Systems, was organized for III B. Arch. students, for the subject of Building Services on Thursday 11th July 2013. The talk was aimed at 'Basics of Mechanical Air Conditioning'. Speaker started his presentation with fundamentals and origin of refrigeration process. He further explained details of vapor compression cycle, types of AC sysyem and different components of the same. He also gave students thumb rules for tonnage calculation, calculating heat loads, duct cross-section area, velocity, etc. Latest technologies and systems used in the field of Air Conditioning has also been told to students. During question and answer session, students asked and discussed about various other aspects such as role of CFC, energy efficiency of any AC systems, etc.
