Orientation week B - STREET 01-09-2010 to 07-09-2010

The first week of the next batch of Ist B.Arch students started with an Orientation workshop similar to the previous batch. The students enjoyed working in groups and put up an impressive installation based on the theme ‘ Street scape ‘ - 5000 BC to 5000 AD. They learnt some creative skills as an introduction to architecture.

Visit to Sujata Dharap's studio : 'Creative Club' - 28-08-10

A visit was arranged to the ‘Creative Club’ for the Ist B.Arch students. The students got to see eminent artist Sujata Dharap’s work. In the interaction with students she talked about liberal arts, freedom of expression and abstraction. They also got an opportunity to interact with the eminent landscape architect Ar. Jayant Dharap. He emphasized on the importance of sketching in the field of architecture. In all it was a very creative and learning experience for the students and the faculty. 






Visit by Ar. Anupama Kundoo, Auroville/Berlin

Eminent architect Ar. Anupama Kundoo, Auroville / Germany visited the school and went through  the students academic work. She also interacted with all the students about creativity and expressed that one should not restrict herself / himself from creative ideas, as no idea is impractical. The talk benefitted students and faculty in understanding the freedom of expression. 








Guest Lecture by Ar. Narendra Dengle, Pune (for faculty members)

A lecture by eminent architect and academician Ar. Narendra Dengle, Pune,  was organised for the full time as well as visiting faculty on ‘Approach to Design : A policy for school of Architecture’. He talked about the teaching policies an institute should take up for the benefit of the students and how the design projects for all the studios should be handled. He also talked about the team work and intellect that needs to be put together for the benefit of the design studios.
