Second year- As a part of connect week and a kickstart to
academics we screened 'The Toilet : An
unspoken History'. The documentary looks at the role of the toilet in our
culture, exploring its social history in Britain and abroad, and also
explores possible future solutions to
global sanitation issues.
The documentary was intended to create awareness among the
students about such global issues and how they could play a vital role as
'Architects' in exploring solutions.
Third year- As a part of connect week and a kickstart to
academics we screened 'Home ',a
documentary film by French Photographer Yann Arthus-Bertrand.
The film is mostly is composed of aerial shots of various
places on Earth, shot over 54 countries showcasing the geographical settings
and species diversity on the planet.
The film is about the diversity of life on Earth and how
humanity is threatening the ecological balance of the planet.
Underlined statements in the documentay are how lives on
earth are interlinked. And a disruption of any life may have cascading effect
on the whole planet
The documentary leaves food for thought, regarding the
direction we must take for our existence and all future developments.
