Workshop for "Hands-on" Experience 2015-16 - 27/11/2015 to 30/11/2015


The "Hands-On" workshop was conducted for all the students of II and III year students as a great learning experience with experts in various arts.

There were four workshops running simultaneously in the college.
1. Explorations in Clay with Smt. Vidya Dengle, Pune.
2. Mud Construction with Dr. Yogananda M.R., Ar. Subhash Chandra Basu and Harish Prasad D.J.  (Gramavidya), Bengaluru.
3. Ways of seeing Structures in Architecture with Prof. V.R. Shah, Ahmedabad.
4. Architectural Techtonics Workshop: Bamboo with Ar. Sankalpa, Ahmedabad.

STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT : Transparence 2015-16

Transparence - India's most recognized and anticipated Architectural Design Competition conducted by ethos.
The Theme : SOCIAL MASS HOUSING FOR SMART CITIES

The challenge given was to design a social mass housing complex that integrates the principles and concepts of smart cities within itself. The housing, intended exclusively for the migrant population, will have spaces for residents to Live, Work and Play.

The Western Zone Results were announced:
the Jury for the Western zone of Transparence 2015 was held at Sr. J.J. College, Mumbai on 26th November, 2015. The Jury consisted of Ar. Nitin Killawala, Ar. Hiren Gandhi and Ar. Vinayak Thorat.

The WINNERS are:
Abhilash Rahane, Ashish Dalal, Pinak Bhapkar from VIT's PVP COA, Pune.
Shibani Chawdhry, Reetwik Malpani from VIT's PVP COA, Pune.

These teams make into the National Finale.

Wake Up & Speed Up Studio - 23/11/2015 to 27/11/2015

A Thesis is not simply a large project for which the student as opposed the tutor writes the programme. The project is supported by :
  • Theoretical foundation
  • Revealing a clear Personal Position
  • Typology
  • Attitude to site
  • Environmental Impact
In the studio students were to create Brochures, Posters and Touchstone. The exercise was done by the students to create a better understanding of the subject and clarity of the thought about what the project actually wants to be.

STUDENTS ACHIEVEMENT : Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) 2015

The tenth edition IGBC Green Green Design Competition, 2015 conducted by ?Ethos!! on the theme of "GREEN TRANSIT SHELTERS FOR CONSTRUCTION WORKERS"

The awards were presented during IGBC's  flagship event Green Buildings- Green Building Congress 2015  held during 19 to 21st November 2015 at Gandhinagar, Gujarat.

Undergraduate Category :
1st Prize  :  Rs. 50,000
2nd Prize : Rs. 30,000
3rd Prize : Rs. 20,000

The Top 3 winning entries get an opportunity to participate in the Congress.

"Streets for the people, by the people 2015" workshop - 16/11/2015 to 30/11/2015

The workshop "STRRETS FOR THE PEOPLE, BY THE PEOPLE" was conducted by PVPCOA, CEE and PDA in association with SUM Net India Parisar, ITDP, IUDI & PMC. A Team of  Faculty members from PVPCOA, experts from CEE, architect from PDA , Urban design specialist  from PDA & Experts from Parisar, IUDI steered and guided the workshop. Workshop was co-ordinated and implemented by the team of PVPCOA Faculty and 70 Fourth year Students. Workshop was executed in consultation with elected local representative and Additional Municipal Commissioner Mr. Dyaneshwar Molak.

The workshop was also benefited with the appearance and guidance of Mr. Stephen Yarwood, Former Mayor of the City of Adelaide in South Australia and Mr. Rajendra Ravi, Institute of Democracy and Sustainability.
