Orientation Program - 25/07/2011

Orientation program for I year students were held to make them aware about the course and field of architecture. In this program students were also made aware of the systems which are to be followed in the college.

 

 

Site Visit : HAHS : Visit to St. Patricks and St. Xaviers Church - 16/07/2011

II Year B. Arch. students were taken to St. Patricks and St. Xaviers Churches in Pune. The students were asked to sketch the buildings as they observe it. The objective was to understand different Church plans and elements as studied in the history class.

Goal Gappe : Nail It by Ar. P. Vivek Anand - 15/07/2011

This session of Ar. P. Vivek Anand, was second of the Goal Gappe series. Aim of his presentation is to knock and remind students the very reason to design, to evoke interest and passion for design. and make them realize how easy design and research would be if they use their common sense, to discuss different design streams and the basic research backbone in every design.

Presentation and Interactive Session : Islamic Architecture by Ar. Pushkar Sohoni - 14/07/2011

Presentation on 'Islamic Architecture' by Ar. Pushkar Sohoni was organised on 14th July 2011. In his presentation he talked about difference between Historians and Art Historians. He also told that it is important to know whether or not the same regional boundaries existed during the time the structures were built as they are today and that one should not oversimplify history by putting building into compartments.

Interactive Session : Ar. Prof. Mohammad Shahir, Ar. Naredra Dengle, Ar. Jayant Dharap - 09/07/2011

After judging the entries for 'Pune, People and Places' competition, Ar. Prof. Mohamad Shahir, Ar. Narendra Dengle and Ar. jayant Dharap had an interactive session with the students and faculty.

Inter College Competition : Pune, People and Places - Jury Meet - Ar. Prof. Mohammad Shaheer, Ar. Narendra Dengle and Ar. Jayant Dharap - 09/07/2011

Jury Meet of the Inter College Competition called 'Pune , People and Places' happened on 9th July 2011 in PVP College of Architecture. Jurors for the competition were Ar. Prof. Mohammad Shahir, Ar. Narendra Dengle and Ar. Jayant Dharap. College trustees and members of  IID were present on the occasion.

Site Visit : Climatolohy at IMD, Shivaji Nagar, Pune - 06/07/2011

Students of II Year B. Arch. visited Indian Meteorological Department, Pune to understand how climatic datas are measured, how it is represented and how it is analyzed In this visit students could see various instruments used to measure the climatic data which they use to analyse their sites for design.

 

Presentation and Interactive Session : Ar. Lalit Kishor Bhati, Auroville - 02/07/2011

Lalit Bhati, an Architect Planner from Auroville held a presentation on 'Understanding Sustainability'.
He spoke about sustainability and its true meaning. The students were explained through slide presentations about the various ways in which energy conservation takes place giving a glimpse of Auroville and strategies and experiments going on there. After the presentatios, the students had an informal talk with him in the amphitheater which was very interactive and ranged in topics from Building Sustainability to Spirituality.
