Presentation and Interactive Session : 'Climate Responsive Architecture' by Ar. Arvind Krishan, New Delhi - 24/12/2011

Presentation and Interactive Session of Ar. Arvind Krishan from New Delhi happened on 24th of Dec. 2011. He talked about Climate Responsive Architecture and idea of Sustainability. He also explained the students about the matrix of climatic factor and climate type, which they have developed.

 

 

Site Visit : AD I : visit to Empress Garden, Pune - 21/12/2011

In this visit students of I Year B. Arch. measured the complete site which they have selected to set up 80 stalls, in a group of eight. Then each one of them finalized and sketched their sites.

Workshop : BD I : 'Padeogogical Foundation for Architecture' by Ar. Punita Mehta, Vadodara - 17/12/2011

Ar. Punita Mehta held a workshop titled ' Pedagogical Foundation for Architecture', for the students and faculty. This workshop was related to the subject called Basic Design. In this presentation she told about how they try to relate all subjects and donot work on any subject in isolated fashion. They try and take forward topic covered in one subject into another. She also told the way they conduct assignments for each topic and what students understand from each assignment.

Jury cum Workshop : Approach to Thesis by Ar. Prof. Jaimini Mehta from Vadodara - 17/12/2011

Ar. Prof Jaimini Mehta reviewed the work of thesis students in jury which was open to all and held in a corridor. He guided about how they should approach their thesis projects.

Site Visit - AD I visit to Empress Garden, Pune - 14/12/2011

I Year B. Arch. students visited Empress Garden for their first AD project of Semester two. Exhibition of Organic Food is about to happen in Feb 2012 at Empress Garden. Based on that an AD project is formulated in which students were to come up with an Individual design of Stalls. In this visit they roughly identified areas for their stalls.

Relative Study Programme : Hampi - 1/11/2011 to 10/11/2011

Students of II Year B. Arch. visited Aihole, Badami, Pattadkal, Hampi, Bijapur for their relative study programme. Aim was to understand architecture of a region with reference to its historical context and applying this understanding in today's context.

Site Visit : Climatology - visit to house of Mr. Velankar at Warje - 09/09/2011

Students of II year B. Arch. visited house of Mr. Velankar which is designed by Ar. Vivek Dixit to understand relevance of climate in building design. Students were made aware of the concerns and the design by the architect at his office. On site students observed and analysed the building.

Site Visit : AD II - visit to House of Ar. Manish Banker - 27/08/2011

II Year students visited Ar. Manish Banker's Residence as apart of the Design Studio for Bunglow Design. Ar. Manish Banker explained the design, his concept and details. Students spent couple of hours observing and analyzing the house.

Jury : II B. Arch - Ar. Manish Banker, Pune - 17/08/2011

Ar. Manish Banker was invited for the II Year Bunglow Design Jury as a part of Design Studio for I Semester. He gave valuable comment on students work and conducted a small exercise on "Describing a House".
